2nd Iranian Proteomics Conference

Pre-Conference Educational Day (22 April)
 
Second Iranian Proteomics Conference (IPC) will be held at Royan Institute from April 23-24. The organizing committee of conference is arranging a one-day Pre-Conference Educational Day as a training course.. During this educational day, several courses related to basic proteomics technologies and their application in biology will be presented. This course will cover the background and theory of two dimensional gel electrophoresis, Mass Spectrometry, and their applications in embryonic stem cell, infectious disease, plant, and cancer.  We do recommend this course for those who would like to have basic knowledge about proteomics technologies and their applications in biology. This course will also provide necessary background for those who would like to attend excellent presentations by distinguished invited speakers in 2nd Iranian Proteomics Conference (23-24 April).
 

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Sample preparation for two dimensional electrophoresis
  • Protein visualization - sensitive silver and coomassie stains
  • Differential In Gel Electrophoresis (DIGE)
  • Image analysis using software

  • Protein identification using Mass Spectrometry
